Engineering What Comes Next

An expanding portfolio of engineered biologics and genetic medicines across

oncology, regenerative medicine, and other high-unmet-need veterinary indications.

Viral Vector Discovery & Engineering

We develop and evaluate engineered viral-vector technologies designed to expand tissue targeting, biological performance, and therapeutic versatility across veterinary species. Building on decades of innovation at the forefront of human gene therapy, we are applying this expertise to discover and advance new delivery solutions for veterinary medicine.

Molecular & Protein Engineering

We engineer species-specific biologics, including antibodies, Fc architectures, cytokines, and other therapeutic proteins, integrating structural bioinformatics, structure–function analysis, and experimental validation. We design. We validate. We translate. Our integrated R&D capabilities enable us to rapidly explore and advance new therapeutic concepts across veterinary medicine.

Advancing New Possibilities in Veterinary Medicine

We apply our integrated biotechnology platforms across high-unmet-need areas of veterinary medicine, with programs spanning oncology, regenerative medicine, and additional areas of active research

Bringing Immunotherapy and Genetic Medicine Together

Cancer remains one of the most significant challenges in companion animal health. Building on advances in immunology, protein engineering, and genetic medicine, Buka is exploring new ways to engage the immune system and deliver therapeutic biology directly where it is needed.

Our oncology programs integrate species-specific biologics with advanced gene delivery, creating opportunities to explore new therapeutic strategies across multiple cancers while addressing the unique needs of veterinary patients.

Expanding what may be possible for animals facing cancer.

Built on Experience. Driven by What’s Next.

Buka was founded by scientists with decades of experience in human and veterinary gene therapy, immunology, protein engineering, and translational medicine. Here, we combine the scientific rigor of human biotechnology with a deep understanding of veterinary medicine. Prior to Buka, members of our leadership team contributed to pioneering gene therapy technologies that advanced into human clinical development, including technologies incorporated into FDA-approved gene therapy products. Today, we bring that expertise to some of the most challenging unmet medical needs in animal health.

Our mission is to bring the most advanced innovations in biotechnology to veterinary medicine. We believe the future of veterinary medicine will be shaped by continuous innovation in genetic medicine, precision biologics, and molecular engineering. Every discovery we pursue is driven by scientific excellence and a commitment to translating breakthrough science into meaningful therapies for animals.
